MotoGP ke Austin, Impian Schwantz jadi Nyata

Texas - Setelah perhelatan F1, Austin juga akan menjadi tuan rumah gelaran balapan MotoGP sedari tahun 2013 mendatang. Kontrak berdurasi 10 tahun pun telah resmi diteken.

Medio pertengahan tahun 2010 lalu, F1 dinyatakan akan mulai menggelar balapan di Sirkuit Amerikas di Austin, Texas, sedari tahun 2012. Kontrak berdurasi 10 tahun saat itu sekaligus diumumkan.

Tidak mau ketinggalan, MotoGP juga akan mengikutsertakan sirkuit itu ke dalam kalender balapannya sedari musim 2013. Dalam kesepakatan, balapan di sana bakal meliputi tiga kategori; MotoGP, Moto2 dan Moto3.

"Adalah sebuah kebanggaan untuk bisa memperluas Kejuaraan ini sampai ke Texas, yang mana kaya sejarah dalam melahirkan pembalap juara dunia," terang CEO Dorna Carmelo Ezpeleta di situs MotoGP.

"Kesepakatan 10 tahun ini adalah tanda dari kepercayaan dan komitmen kami akan kesuksesan masa depan balapan MotoGP di Austin," lanjutnya.

Kesepakatan tersebut juga disambut hangat mantan pembalap asal Amerika Serikat, Kevin Schwantz, yang ikut membidani datangnya MotoGP ke Austin, Texas.

"Buatku ini adalah sebuah impian jadi kenyataan, bahwa Kejuaraan Dunia MotoGP akan datang ke kampung halamanku di Texas. Aku percaya penuh kepada olahraga ini dan tahu betapa olahraga ini sangat populer di Texas."

Los Angeles Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers are a National Basketball Association (NBA) team based in Los Angeles, California. The Lakers play their home games at Staples Center, which they share with their local NBA rival, the Los Angeles Clippers, the Los Angeles Kings of the NHL, and the Los Angeles Sparks of the WNBA.^[1] The Lakers are the reigning NBA champions after defeating the Boston Celtics in the 2010 NBA Finals 4–3. The Finals victory gave the franchise their 16th championship, placing them second in NBA history behind the Celtics' 17. As of 2011, the Lakers are the second most valuable NBA franchise according to Forbes, having an estimated value of $643 million.^[2]
The franchise started with the 1947 purchase of a disbanded team, the Detroit Gems of the NBL. The new team began play in Minneapolis, Minnesota, calling themselves the Lakers in honor of the state's nickname, "Land of 10,000 Lakes".^[3] The Lakers won five championships in Minneapolis, propelled by center George Mikan, who is described by the NBA's official website as the league's "first superstar".^[4] After struggling financially in the late 1950s following Mikan's retirement, they relocated to Los Angeles before the 1960–61 season.
Led by Hall of Famers Elgin Baylor and Jerry West, Los Angeles made the NBA Finals six times in the 1960s, but lost each series to Boston. In 1968, the Lakers acquired four time MVP Wilt Chamberlain to play center, and after losing in the Finals in 1969 and 1970, they won their sixth NBA title—and first in Los Angeles—in 1972, led by new head coach Bill Sharman. After the retirement of West and Chamberlain, the team acquired another center, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who had won multiple MVP awards, but was unable to make the Finals in the late 1970s. The 1980s Lakers were nicknamed "Showtime" due to their Magic Johnson-led fast break-offense, and won five championships in a nine-year span. This team featured Hall of Famers in Johnson, Abdul-Jabbar, and James Worthy, and a Hall of Fame coach, Pat Riley. Two of those championships were against their rivals, the Celtics. After Abdul-Jabbar and Johnson's retirement, the team struggled in the early 1990s before acquiring Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant in 1996. Led by O'Neal, Bryant, and another Hall of Fame coach, Phil Jackson, Los Angeles won three consecutive titles between 2000 to 2002, securing the franchise its first "three-peat". After losing both the 2004 and 2008 NBA Finals, the Lakers won two more championships by defeating the Orlando Magic in 2009 and Boston in 2010.
The Lakers hold the record for NBA's longest winning streak (33), set during the 1971–72 season.^[5] Sixteen Hall of Famers have played for Los Angeles, while four have coached the team. Four Lakers—Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson, Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant—have won the NBA Most Valuable Player Awards for a total of eight awards.^[6]

BIOGRAFI Robinho

Robson de Souza (born 25 January 1984 in São Vicente, São Paulo State, Brazil), more commonly known as Robinho, is a Brazilian professional footballer who currently plays as a striker for Serie A club Milan. He is also currently the captain of the Brazilian national team, for whom he has played 83 times and scored 25 goals.
In 1999, at only 15 years of age, Robinho was personally picked by Brazil legend Pelé as his heir apparent and went on to lead Santos to their first Campeonato Brasileiro title since Pelé himself played for the club.Since then he has won another title with Santos and two more with Spanish club Real Madrid. Robinho has won one Copa América title and two Confederations Cups with Brazil.

In 2002, at the age of eighteen, Robinho signed his first professional contract with Santos in Brazil. He made 24 appearances in his debut season and scoring 1 goal as Santos won the 2002 Campeonato Brasileiro. He reached the final of the 2003 Copa Libertadores with Santos, but lost in the final to Boca Juniors. In 2004, Robinho finished with 21 goals in 37 games and led Santos to win another Campeonato Brasileiro.
His form had brought him to the attention of many European clubs in the summer of 2004, but Robinho remained with Santos after the Brazilian club rejected all offers. However, his form suffered in the 2005 season after his mother, Marina da Silva Souza, was kidnapped by gunmen at her Praia Grande home on November 6, but she was released unharmed six weeks later after a ransom was paid.
Robinho scored nine goals in twelve league games, and his value continued to increase as his talent became more and more apparent to the powers of European football. Santos began to realize it would become increasingly difficult to hold on to their star player. In July 2005, Spanish giants Real Madrid C.F. signed Robinho by agreeing to pay a fee equal to 60 percent of the buyout clause in his contract belonging to Santos (€24 million).

Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite (lahir di Brasília, 22 April 1982; umur 28 tahun), lebih dikenal dengan nama Kaká, adalah seorang pemain sepak bola asal Brasil yang kini membela klub Real Madrid (bergabung tahun 2009; sebelumnya pada 2003-2009 di A.C. Menang Atas Nets, Bulls Bukukan Rekor Terbaik NBA

CHICAGO--MICOM: Kyle Korver mencetak 19 poin dan Derrick Rose 15 poin saat Chicago Bulls membukukan kemengangan beruntun kesembilan saat membekap New Jersey Nets 97-92, Kamis (14/4).

Kemenangan itu mengantarkan Bulls membukukan rekor kemenangan terbaik di NBA setelah pemimpin klasemen liga basket profesional Amerika Serikat sebelumnya San Antonio Spurs menyerah di kandang Phoenix Suns. Itu berarti Bulls akan memperoleh jatah bermain kandang lebih banyak sepanjang babak playoff.

Joakim Noah membukukan 10 poin dan 10 rebounds untuk membantu Bulls membukukan rekor menang kalah 62-20 atau menyamai rekor terbaiknya mereka pada musim 1997/98.

Di putaran pertama babak playoff, Bulls akan berhadapan dengan Indiana Pacers.

Dari Phoenix, Suns memaksa Spurs menyerah 106-103. Marcin Gortat mencetak 21 poin dan 12 rebounds untuk Suns.

Kekalahan itu, membuat Spurs terpaksa menyerahkan puncak klasemen NBA kepada Bulls setelah mereka hanya membukukan rekor menang kalah 61-21 atau tertinggal satu pertandingan.
